WHAT ARE OCCUPATIONAL LENSES?

Man working on computer wearing glasses

Occupational lenses are designed for working professionals who need glasses for near vision work, yet need the added flexibility and range to see things a bit further away than a normal reading distance. People, who develop presbyopia at around the age of 40, lose the ability to focus properly at multiple distances.

Nova Office is an occupational lens with 4 dynamic powers, and is perfect for wearers who work in an office environment and require additions as high as 3.50D. The lens features a smith design that ensures a seamless transition between the mid and near distance vision zones. The design is optimised for indoor, desk based use and gives clear, sharp vision when looking at the computer screen and to the other side of the work room. The lens is specifically designed for small work environments, and is recommended as a second pair dispense for office / close task use.

Nova Office is manufactured using Digi-contour technology. The design utilises 100% back surfacing technology, and can help with maintaining a natural posture when carrying out work and hobbies within a close proximity to the wearer.Digi-Contour Technology has resulted in numerous advancements in lens technology and is one of the most dynamic technological innovations in the eyewear industry.

Thanks to Digi-contour technology, wearers will receive corrective lenses designed specifically to accommodate their exact visual requirement. In order to fully maximise the wearer’s experience while wearing Nova Office lenses, the lenses are available with Blumax technology. The lenses can be further enhanced for office use by adding the Satin Blue coating to improve comfort and contrast. Blumax lenses offer seamless strain-free vision, with both indoor and outdoor protection from UV and blue-violet light*. The embedded technology uses a material formula that absorbs UV and blue-violet light*. Blue turquoise light forms a different part of the light spectrum, and exposure to this light is beneficial to our health. Blumax filters only the blue-violet light, allowing blue-turquoise light to pass through the lens.

*Protection against UV and blue-violete light filtering. (Blue-violet light is between 400 and 455nm as stated by ISO TR 20772:2018).

Nova Office is easy to fit, and can be dispensed and fitted like other progressive lenses

Check Prescription: Check the far- vision prescription and record it exactly as you would for a progressive or bifocal lens.

Pupillary Distance Measurement: Take the mono distance PD measurement.

Height Measurement: Ensure that the selected frame has a minimum B-measurement of 29 mm. In the B-measurement, mark the fitting cross at the centre of the pupil. Ensure that the selected frame has at least 13mm from the fitting cross to the top of the frame, and 16mm to bottom of the frame.

Lens Verification: Verify the reading prescription .If the total near-reading power is correct, the lens will perform optimally in all zones up to the maximum distance for that particular prescription.
